Question
At church today, we had a sermon on what a lord is. It is someone who has control. Jesus, Lord of Lords, has control of every aspect of our life. EVERY aspect. The sermon was how we need to understand that and let him have control of our life. Only then, will everything fall into place.
It was ironic that this was preached this morning, because for a month now, I have been praying, pleeding, and begging God to get me into the nursing program.
I realize that only He can make it happen, and that I have to trust that he is doing what is best not only for my life, but so that I can live my life for Him.
It is so hard though, because it is something I want so bad.
I believe that you can still want something, it is just how you handle whatever results that you get in the end. If you get it, give Glory to God. If you don't get it, praise Him and accept whatever path He has decided to give you.
Is that right?
I hope so. It is what I am betting on right now. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeealy want to get into the nursing program this year.

Easter Baskets!
Every year, mom makes us an Easter basket. We even got one this year! She sent us a box in the mail, and when we opened it up, there were probably 10 little eggs inside! The card said for Matt to open the blue and green eggs, and for me to open the pink and purple ones.
Matt and I had so much fun opening them. Everytime we opened one, there was a little surprise inside. Some of them had chapstic, some had candy, some had tea, and some had money. It was so much fun! We even got t-shirts!
Thanks mom!

Growing up
Well, I would offically say that Matt (my hubby) and I feel pretty grown up now.
For the past couple of months, we have been struggling where we are going to live for the next 5-10 years of our lives. It all depended on if he got a certin job or not. He kept calling the company to try to find out more on what their hiring status was, but they just kept telling him that they would let him know, or to call back in a month to check, ect . . .ect. . . it was getting very old, and very frustrating for both of us. For me, I hated seeing him go to work every day to a job he hated, (he came home grouchy!) and if we were going to move, I would have to start over with my nursing stuff, yet again.
But today if finally happened.
He got a call from the company saying that he couldn't offically say welcome abord, but please fill these forms out that allow you to start working for us. The HR guy said to "read between the lines", so we assume that he got a job there.
We were both so relieved, but the first thing he asked was, "is it ok with you if we stay here for a while? Would that make you happy?"
I was feeling so blessed already, and that just made me feel more so. That in the height of his excitement, he wanted to make sure that I was ok with where his carreer was taking us. I said of coarse it was ok. (then of coarse, I had flashes of mom and dad, sisters and family that I would be away from.) It made me a little sad, but I think God has a plan for us. Matt said that he never dreamed in a million years that he would be able to work for this company, but now, (fingers crossed!) he will. Matt applied for them when he first graduated, but the only company that offered him a job was down in Texas. As reluctant as he was to move, its what we did. Now, becuase we were living down here, we knew of the opening with this better firm. We never would have known it if we wernt living down here. God works his ways, and I can't wait to see what He has in His plan for us.

God help me. Give me guidence
I have been back and forth for years, seiriously, years, about what to do for a profession. I have been back and forth dozens of times between teaching and nursing, it makes me dizzy.
It makes me even more sick to think that in just 2 short years, my little sis, the one who is almost 10 years younger than I am, will be going to college to get a profession. It would really make me sick to think that she would get it figured out before I do.
(don't get me wrong, bec, full steam ahead for you. I am the one who needs to get my butt in gear.)
When I am thinking of things, I think of the very best of it, and then once I start doing it, I think the very worst of it.
Teaching, for example.
Pros: kids are great. They are funny, cute, and little. (I seriously am envisioning the kids from Barney or something.) They will listen to everything I have to say, and I will make such a huge impact on their lives, they will come back when they are 18 and thank me for being a turning point in their lives.
Plus, you get summers, weekends, and holidays off!
Neg: Kids, for the most part, are NOT cute, NOT polite, and DO NOT pay attention. You either have the kids who simply dont care, or you have the wildly disruptive kids that you just want to say, "seriously, YOU were conceived for what reason?" Plus, the parents are a whole different animal all together.
"Why isn't Johnny reading up to par? You must be doing your job wrong. . . wah wah wah."
Plus, teachers don't actually get off weekends and holidays. They have to use that time to grade papaers, come up with new lesson plans, ect.
This is all considering that I will have a job once I graduate. Teacher jobs don't exactlly grow on trees, you know.
Nursing
This, I have been struggling with since 17. (8 years latter, and still, who'd have thought?)
Pros: can work whatever I want practaclly wherever I want. HUGE right now, considering 10 % of America is out of work.
I would get paid really really good. Could finnaly be independent.
Could travel, move, anywhere, and still be able to get a job.
Cons: Eeew. I do NOT like bodilly fluids. They are just icky. You should be responsible for your own. Period. Luckly, I think CNAs do this work, so I can't really use this as an excuse.
The biggest con is school. I don't know for sure if I will ever get in to the program. I tried to sit down and study for an online class, and I had to look up words, and then had to look up words in the definition. It was very frustrating.
I don't know what to do!
I feel like I am just wasting time, but don't know what to do about it. I can't quit my job and go to school. What if I don't get in? Then I would be jobless for no reason. I would just me a jobless, unaccepted student with no direction.
Help, Lord! I need it badly.

What I love about Christmas
Here are a few things that I love about getting ready for Christmas:
Hot drinks! Not only can we finnaly snuggle up with a hot beverage, but we get to drink them out of special Christmas cups! Eeee!

Nativity scene. I love them! I have about 4 or 5, but this one is special because it reminds me of my mom's nativity scene.

Poinsettas! These were always around our house growing up, as Im sure they were around many people's houses growing up, and this year, Matt bought me one for a surprise! Love it!

Lights! What more is there to say?!

Woo hoo! What takes up the entire free space of your guarage/cubby hole/attic? Christmas decorations!

Christmas tree! This year is the first year we don't have a real one, but we still decorated the crap out of it! The theme is Noriegan. (You know, scandanavian. . . I have no idea how to spell. Sorry mom. I know you are cringing.)

Wall hanging! I don't know, I just like this thing. Wall hangings, wreaths, everything accounts as this.

Last but not least, LOVE! Christmas is all about love, so share it with everyone!!!

Comfort moments
Id like to think everyone has them. It is a specific moment in time, normally in your childhood, that when you think of it, it always brings you comfort. It is a time of pure zen and happiness. (That's why I think all of my comfort moments are in my childhood. Much less stress then!)
My comfort moments differ from person to person.
My comfort moment with my mom is when I was probobly seven, and my dad and I had just gotten back from Christmas shopping. Mom was sitting down stairs in our little house getting out all the Christmas decorations with Lisa, who at the time was probably 4ish. She had the record player (yes, record!) playing with the carpenters Christmas hits. I don't know why this spicific moment is so comforting to me. After all, I wasn't really involved in it at all, but when I think about "the joys of Christmas" or "joy of childhood" this always comes to mind. And it always makes me very happy. If I am having a stressful day, it always gives my brain a break for a couple of seconds.
My comfort moment with my dad is when he was working on his old bronco. He was changing the oil, and again, I was just observing, but I really liked watching him.
A whole family zen moment was when we went for bike rides. More to the point, when we got HOME from bike riding. Let me explain.
When I was little, Mom only let us have 1 soda pop a week. Since she didn't want us staying up till God knows when during the weeknites, (well played, mom) we were only allowed it on either Saturday or Sunday.
Wondering what biking and soda pop have to do with one another?
When we got back from our bike rides, everyone would grab a soda. Mom with her Fresca, Dad with his mountian dew, and Lisa and I always had Hawiian punch. Yeeess!! The moment that I put that fruity flavor in my mouth was the best. We had just worked very hard from our bike ride, and now we were all panting and recovering with a family soda.
Sigh.
It was magical.

Chicken wings, and other football things
This last Sunday, I thought to myself, "Ok, what do I like about watching football?" The answer?
Food!
I love snacking on all the greasy goodness. We made chicken wings, chips and (homade!) salsa, and jalapeno poppers.
Matt went over to a buddy's house where they had jalapeno poppers. We easily made them, and they were delicious! Here's what you do:
Get around 6-10 jalapenos. Cut them in half long-ways, from stem to tip. Once they are in half, scoop all the seeds out. (Jalapeno should look like a boat.)
Next, fill the jalapeno with cream cheese and top with shreaded chedder cheese. Then wrap it in bacon.
Place on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees for about 30 minnutes, or until the bacon looks done.
Here's what they should look like
Tasty, huh? Looks like a heart attack ready to happen!
And beware that every time you open the oven, your house will smell like roasting chillies.
ALSO beware, that if you have any cuts or scrapes on your hand, it will BURN!!!
But, tada!!!
Finnished football snacks!
Plus, Matt really enjoyed them, which made me happy. :)
Squirty, of coarse, was rooting for the Broncos.

One
Sometimes, when life really sucks, it can take one person to turn it around. When your top is stopped, they get it spinning.
Sometimes, it takes a few people. A couple of phone calls, some chit chat,
to turn your mud hole into a mud spa.
Sometimes, it will even be your dog. The way it always looks up at you like you are the world.
Sometimes, it can take a whole bunch of good events to cancel out the one bad one.
But there is always that one.
The one person
The one instance
The one message
That will compelatly turn everything that was sour,
sweet.

New Pictures!
Last weekend was my birthday, 25, thankyou very much. Matt took me a place that we could go "hiking", or as much hiking you can do in Texas. Turns out, it overlooks the river, and on that river is a really cool bridge! We even went at sunset. How romantic is THAT?!

Very exciting whenever I have new pictures.
