Ok, I give in to the cutness

As all know, Matt got a golden retriever puppy for a wedding present (sort of,). I started out totally hating the pooch, but of lately, he has been the best dog ever! He listens, comes when called, STAYS, (a big one for me . . . I hate chasing dogs around if they get out. ) He even knows some cool tricks like twirling and shaking.
We got so excited when he learned how to shake, we hugged and shouted every time he did it. Now, when he gets in trouble, he gives us his paw because he knows it will make us happy. :)
He is not even a year old, and he is a wonderful dog. He is going to be that one, I think, that everybody has. That great dog, the one you compare all your other dogs to.
But!
I STILL MISS SQUIRT!!!
Kody tries to be a lap dog. He jumps up on furniture, and into our laps like squirt used to do, but it isnt the same! Mabye if he weighed a few pounds less . . .

Gifts, but no glory.

Being the not-so-patient people we are, Matt and I decided to open our presents on the 13, rather than on actual Valentines Day. I got him a cot for when we go camping, (he doesn't like to sleep on the ground.) and he got me a cute little i-pod! It is purple, my all-time favorite color, and soooooooo tiny!

Anyway, that was Friday night, and Matt had alot of homework, so we said we would try everything out the next morning.

So, flash to the 14th, (i.e. the next morning) and we had slept till 10. I got up and started making my heart shaped cup cakes. They failed miesrably. Since it was cylocone, I thought we didn't need to put any grease in the bottom of the pan, so my first batch of cakes had no bottoms. The next batch, I forgot about, so while they came out of the pan ok, they were rock hard and burnt. My 3rd, and last attempt, I finally got them right. Huzzah!!!

Finally, things start going right!

Yeah right.

I next attempted to make frosting.

For those of you who will be attempting frosting in the future, use POWDERED sugar!!! I used regular, b/c the recipie didn't specify, and ended up with waaay grainy frosting.

The cupcakes failed.

Pooh.
Then, Matt wanted to help me download some songs on my i-pod. I had no idea what to do because I had never had one, and Matt got impatient, which made me mad/depressed, which made me hat the present.
It was a bad, bad day.
Editors note:
After a good night sleep, I like my i-pod again. :)

Hurray!!! Im done with the headache

My mom is turning 50 this year, and as a present, I thought it would be nice to make her a little scrap book of us kids growing up. All the Halloweens, Christmases, EVERYTHING is in there. I didn't realize how much work it took till I did it. There were some days that I really liked exploiting my creative side, but some days, I was like, "Damm pictures, they look fine how they are." But with the love for my mother, I got it done. It looks supper uber cool!
(I can't find my camera, otherwise I would take pictures of my work and post it. )

Side Note: I might get an i-pod! My MP3 player mysteriously quit working, and it sucks! I dono't mind a cd player, but it is hard to run with. So I might break down and buy one! (Sqeal of delight!)

What's love got to do with it?

Ok, Valentines Day comming up, I can't help but think of romance blossoming in the air. Anyone who knows me knows I am a total romantic, no matter what happens to me. I have had my ups and downs in relationships, as everyone has had. However, what is with the bitterness towards love? Have people given up on it compleatly, convinced that there is no happy ending? In a world where we can travel to Europe, become an olympic swimmer, and be whoever we want to be, has it put a stopper on the old-fashioned romance? Is it too much to expect that people CAN work things out, that they CAN comprimise, that they CAN forgive? Are we being raised to think that we are supirior, and anyone who disagrees with us isn't worth the time of day?
My answer; yes.
I was lucky enough to find a guy, and though we have problems, we always have found a way to work them out. However, everyone I have seemed to talk to is soooo anti-valentines! One girl, (single,) calls it "Single awarness day".
Tis true, one has to have a partner to find this day "romantic," but even so, it is nice to have something to celebrate!
People, put your bitterness asside, just love LOVE, and enjoy the day.

Mabye I've been watching too much Sex and the City and Marley and Me

Ok, so everybody knows that I have been struggling with what to do. My mom said, well, why not be a collumist?
It sounds really great, and I started thinking that finally, I could write with my voice in the peice, but then . . .
Rocky Mt. News just closed down, alot of smaller news papers have been shutting down. . .
There are tons of jornalists on the prowl, and they have experiance!
Mabye I should just be thankful that I have a job right now. My boss is leaving in May, so perhaps I'll get a promotion. :)
+++++++++
I know this sounds extreamly shallow, but I hope I get something for Valentines day. I have been dropping hints alot, and I told him straight out last night that it would be nice if I had a pretty necklace from him. He said, "I hope you don't mean for V. Day. . I don''t have time to go shopping." :(
Mabye its a ploy
